[TC] CityDriving - Official Fine List
Refer to "4.9. Fines" of the
Server Rules for rules on selecting the severity of fines.
Illegal parking (40€ / 80€)
It is illegal to park:
On roads and paths intended for through traffic, including curbs;
On the grass/sand;
On cross-hatched areas (except pits);
On Autobahn: aprons & hard shoulders;
Anywhere that would cause an unnecessary nuisance or danger to other traffic (i.e. access roads or paths).
Exemption(s):
Stopping/halting for a very short period of time is allowed as long as the stopped car doesn't cause an immediate danger to others.
Cops may park in illegal places for purposes of traffic surveillance as long as the car doesn't cause an immediate danger to others.
In some cases, administrators need to park at unusual places in order to do their job. In such cases, illegal parking does not apply.
Slow speed on Autobahn (50€)
Holding a speed slower than 40 mph / 65 km/h on Kyoto's Autobahn.
Exemption(s): This fine does not apply if a car is going slow due to an obstruction in the road.
Speeding (40€ - 480€)
Going at least 10%* over limit.
Notes:
*10% is an approximate value. It may differ slightly for converted kph or mph values.
To avoid confusion with odd conversions between mph and km/h, InSim will decide on the type of speeding offense. The tracker (police display) and the !showlaser command will show colored bullets to indicate the offense.
As per the rules, cops must always adhere to the speed limit (when outside of SOS/chase). The leeway does not apply to cops.
● One green bullet = Within the speed-limit
● One orange bullet = Within the leeway (verbal warning possible)
● - ●●●● 1-4 red bullets = Speeding (depending on severity, roughly 100€ each)
Careless driving (30€ / 60€ / 100€)
Driving in a careless manner
without actively endangering other cars.
Examples:
Cutting corners;
Ignoring lines, cones, barriers or traffic lights;
Drifting, doughnutting, and all kind of stunts on the track;
Operating an unsafe vehicle;
Constantly driving backwards.
Failure to keep to the correct side (50€ / 75€ / 100€)
Driving on the wrong side / wrong direction.
Exemption(s): This fine does not include overtaking (within reason) or wrong-siding to avoid a crash.
Tailgating (50€ / 100€ / 150€)
Ignoring safety distance by following the user in front too closely.
Street racing (75€ / 125€ / 200€)
Organized speeding, racing for money, drag races.
Exemption(s): Official drag races / events hosted by [TC] Members/HwA are within controlled environments, therefore participation is legal.
Dangerous driving (100€ / 125€ / 150€)
Driving in such a way that
actively endangers other road user(s).
Examples:
Ignoring the right of way which almost causes an accident;
Ignoring traffic lights which almost causes an accident;
General near misses through careless driving.
Causing an accident (150€ / 200€ / 300€)
Causing an accident with another road user.
Failure to stop for police (300€ - 1,000€)
Attempting to evade the police.
Notes: InSim suggests 3 possible fines between 300€-1000€ based on the length of the chase.
